Background: India is experiencing increasing road traffic accidents (RTA) amidst motorization andinfrastructure growth in recent years. Every day, nearly 400 deaths occur on Indian roads and severalthousands are hospitalized due to crashes. WHO estimates the incidence of be 16.6 per 100000population India1. With aim studying pattern exploring various epidemiological characteristics ofRTAs, this retrospective study medico-legal autopsies was conducted.Aims & Objectives: 1 To thoraco-abdominal injuries (TAI) fatal inKolar. 2. describe demographic profile create public awareness safety.Material Methods: A autopsy based victims offatal conducted Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar (South India) from 1st January2014 31st December 2014. total 192 RTA were referred for during period which100 cases sustaining studied.Results: medicolegal thestudy period. Among them, 100 suffered injuries, which accounted 52.08% thecases. The highest number belonged age group 20-40 years, accounting 48% cases.In terms gender distribution, males constituted 62.0% while females 38.0%. mostcommon liver, 37.75% injuries. Other frequently affected body partsincluded spleen, lungs, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, spine.Conclusion: analyzed data provides clear evidence that foreseeable avoidable. Tomake substantial improvements safety throughout India, it essential establish a robust effectivenational state-level authority, foster intersectoral coordination, secure regular funding. Ouraim sharing article increase significance publichealth perspective alleviate weight fatalities our communities.
